Armoured bellows are widely used in various pipeline systems to
compensate axial, lateral and angular displacement caused by temperature
and pressure fluctuations. The core component of the armored bellows is
the bellows, which can carry out pumping, lateral and angular
displacement through the deformability and pressure resistance of the
bellows, and bear the fluid pressure of the system. Other components are
structural components, which play the role of guiding, supporting,
connecting, guiding, etc. According to the design and use requirements,
the bellows and related structural parts are welded into different types
of bellows expansion joints in the axial, transverse and angular
directions according to the required structure. It is widely used in
petrochemical industry, high-voltage power transmission and
transformation industry, energy, marine, aerospace and other fields.
2. Flexible connection for armored bellows
The
armored bellows is used to compensate the position deviation caused by installation in
the pipeline system, meet the requirements of the directional
displacement of the working end, and bear the fluid pressure of the
system. The core part of the armored bellows is the bellows. The ratio
of the length to the inner diameter of the bellows is generally greater
than 3. The types of waves are divided into annular and spiral. In order
to increase the bearing capacity of the armored bellows, in many cases,
the metal wire or braided metal mesh sleeve is armored outside the
bellows.
3. For valve sealing isolation element
The bellows valve includes a stop valve and a throttle valve, which is
used as a packless sealing isolation element of the valve stem. During
the operation of the valve, the bellows and the valve rod carry out
axial displacement and reset together, and at the same time bear the
pressure of the fluid and absolute sealing. The main performance of the
bellows is pressure resistance, working displacement and fatigue life.
The failure modes of bellows include fatigue failure, stress corrosion
failure and bellows instability. The bellows valve has higher
reliability and service life than the packing seal valve. It has been
widely used in nuclear industry, petroleum, chemical industry, medicine,
aerospace and other industrial fields.
4. Used for armored bellows as heat exchange element
Armored bellows is a kind of highly efficient and strengthened heat
exchanger, which is the product of metal forming, mechanics and heat
transfer. As a heat exchange tube bundle, bellows mainly plays the role
of strengthening heat transfer, and also plays the role of heat
compensation and vibration resistance. The failure modes of bellows
include fatigue fracture, stress corrosion fracture and corrosion
fracture.
5. Elastic sensitive element for instrument
As an elastic sensitive element, bellows has high requirements for its
elastic performance. As an elastic sensing element, bellows mainly
converts pressure into displacement output or pressure into concentrated
force output. The bellows that converts pressure into concentrated
force output has little or no displacement, so the stress generated on
the bellows is less than the stress on the bellows that outputs
displacement.
